The work analyses the main thermal and physical
parameters of the material that condition the laser welding
process. It is shown that the best quality of the laser welding
seam in carbon-rich and highly doped steels is obtained when the
seam is formed from the covering layer of the powder mixture
deposited on the surface of the welded parts. It should be noted
that, when the laser technology is used to weld the parts from
copper or aluminium, the welding process can be carried out in the
atmosphere of CO2 gas.
