Report
In 2003, Lithuanian women physicists continued to
accomplish the ideas outlined in the Resolution of the International Conference
“Women in Physics” held in Paris.
1.
Dr.,
associate professor Dalia Satkovskiene has made a report “Gender equality in science:
women physicists in modern democratic society” at the 35th
Lithuanian National Conference on Physics. The contribution was accepted with
benevolent and made a stir.
2.
The web
sites http://www.itpa.lt/~akupl/women.htm (English version) and http://www.itpa.lt/~akupl/moterys.htm
(Lithuanian version) were constantly complimented with new information.
3.
The
information about grant opportunities, initiatives of women groups of IUPAP,
European Physical Society and Lithuanian Physical Society was continually sent
to Lithuanian women physicists.
4.
Dr Dalia
Satkovskiene (Vilnius university) has received a travel grant of 500 USD for
the participation at the International conference in Berlin (Germany) under the
pilot program of IUPAP to fund the attendance of women from developing and
Eastern Europe countries at the International and Regional conferences.
5.
Associate
professor D.Satkovskiene and Prof. Z.R.Rudzikas have participated at the
conversation about the problems of women scientists held by Lithuanain National
radio and sent it by radio on 08.06.2003.
